SAM report this one was caught at low tide

Despite the poor summer weather the charter boats have continued to find good bags of plaice with fish up to 5lbs but the lack of cod on the wrecks has meant a change of tactics for some skippers. Steve Bradshaw on Deep Blue, put the anchor down on one trip and was rewarded with some hefty bull huss to 13lbs, otherwise it was the turbot banks with mixed success. John Himpfen found turbot to 10lbs on ‘Misty Blue’ but it can be very hit or miss, depending on the size of the tide and the colour of the water. There are reports of some very big black bream up to 5lbs coming from deep water wrecks which will give the boats something to target until the cod reappear.
